‘Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, without knowledge because they have shut their hearts to it’ Ephesians 4.18
Drowning is a terrible way to die.
An inescapable nightmarish ghoul-like
vacant response to a desperate plea to live.
Virtue signallers blind even to the blood
screaming for help, perhaps even staining
their police boots in the dark.
So very in the dark.
Platitudes, appeasements abound.
Truth is subjective and we have backed a side.
Oh of course this is not the first time
and only a fool could think it the last.
The race and the colours
the faith, the gender
its all been tried before
in different combinations
of hate in action.
But to not notice a man stabbed
to not notice the urgency of his wounds
to not perform the basics vital signs
to not see a life as vital at all
they say there was ridicule as cuffs went on
the bleeding man.
Those servants meant to protect
blinded by false moralities
have extinguished the line
dragged themselves into polite hell.
In the good old days
hospital wards and accident emergency
routinely erected boundaries
between victims and their perpetrators
trusting the Law would deliver
a just resolution to their altercation.
As for who should live and die amongst them
was not an evil we entertained.
It’s later than we think.
For Henry Nowak who met with a tragic death see here. He was eighteen on a night out with pals. RIP.
