What are three objects You couldn’t live without?

The watch, about £20 sterling, is a much favoured daily object. I’ve had the garmins, the apps. Done my year on year comparisons. Sweated on the days I forgot my watch or the battery went and how that would affect ‘results’. This watch by
Hearkent is more gentle. No sleep monitoring, no apps. Just a gentle reminder to go for a walk. A simple daily goal that is achievable. If I achieve today my mood is enhanced. If I don’t then tomorrow is another day. No statistics, no recriminations.

The Miraculous medal. Why would I deny my best friends? I wear this religious object as an act of faith in a secular Scotland. To deepen my relationship with God and the Virgin Mary and to enjoy their protection and love.

The Lipstick. I read many, many years ago a magazine article stating we should put down the diet manuals. Be you – now! Put on the red lipstick today. The one you say you will wear when you get there. There being when you arrive at bodily perfection. Stop postponing life!
It took many years to learn that wearing a smile beats all. I am more of a rose sunset than a scarlet red today but yes my lipstick reminds me to do my best today. Waiting to be thin enough leads to a deathly depression.
