What were your parents doing at the age you are now? That’s a great question. I asked myself that about my mum when I was 36. It gave me a huge new perspective on our relationship. Turned out at 36 she had 6 kids, some nippy co-workers and a mind that wasn’t always positive. Whereas I at 36 had the downturn mind and only myself to nurture. It gave me a bit of a kick. Turning to now at 53 what where my parents doing. Getting to know Edinburgh again, welcoming grandchildren and finding the over egged generational gap with us kids difficult. We were hurtful and entitled. Now at 53 I try to live like they did, love like they loved.
